We are open! For now and for as long as the law allows, we will remain open for our normal business hours to fulfill our role in helping to ship and deliver items to people and residences.

If any of our immune-compromised customers or neighbors have a need to either ship or pick up your packages in these difficult times, please give us a call at 425-881-2449 and we will run out and pick them up from your car or deliver to your truck - no need for you to leave your car - and handle everything remotely for you.

Why Ship Golf Clubs?

Often times customers will ship their golf clubs when going on vacation so they avoid the hassles of taking them on the plane, paying additional baggage fees, risk mishandling at the airport, and waiting for them at baggage claim. This way, they can be waiting for you as soon as you get to your destination for not much more than taking them with you and sometimes for even less than baggage fees! Another perk is you can often fit other clothes or smaller items in the same box for no extra charge (depending on dimensional weight). We carry boxes that fit most sizes of golf clubs. With these benefits, why *not* ship golf clubs?

Having to Pay to Shred Yourself?!

Yesterday we performed some shredding services for a customer who informed us that she would pay to have to shred her own documents at one of our competitors! Our shredding service is performed in a secure area on-site only by our staff. We can call you if you would like to pick up the shredded remains, but otherwise will recycle them for you and best of all, you don't have to pay us only to stand there and shred your own documents! $2 for the first pound, $1/pound thereafter.

Not much. Except right now is peak harvest season for Shiro Plums and we just like sharing. We try to bring in freshly-picked organic plums (and occasionally other produce) every day when the gettin' is good and right now it is definitely good! A customer asked the other day what our policy is on recycling and going green. We do try to use biodegradable and recycled packing materials whenever possible. We also try to source our boxes with as much recycled content as possible. We can take:

-Clean loose packing peanuts in plastic bags (vs boxes since that causes quite the mess!)
-Un-popped bubble wrap (bubble wrap that has been popped is fun for kids but not great for padding)
-Un-popped air pillows

We can't take rigid styrofoam or other molded foam products but Ikea has a great recycling program and they have taken those in the past.

Sometimes we will get customers who are sending multiple boxes to the same address that are all roughly the same size. These may be moving boxes or maybe separately packaged gifts to each of the grandchildren or separate for whatever reason. While they could all be sent separately, many times they could also be taped-up together and sent as one package for much less. Today we had a customer send out 2 small boxes to the same address who would have paid about $10 each to send them out. We taped them together and sent it for just under $15, resulting in a 25% savings.

We've had a couple folks come in in the past week and tell us they had to run all over town or wait in long lines to get their documents notarized or their things shipped before coming to visit us. Most of our customers are able to come in to take care of their needs and leave in just a minute or two, which frees up and gives them back their most valuable commodity - their time. Fast efficient service, often times for less $. How much is your time worth?

Today, a customer came to ship a package and mentioned how much cheaper it was to ship especially their larger items with us than at the Post Office. After doing a bit of research we found their package would have cost $49.60 at the Post Office (along with a complete waste of a 25 minute wait). The exact same package, with insurance and guaranteed delivery to boot, cost $34.75 here or 30% less than the Post Office!

Defend Your Business Against Crazy People

Last week, we had a very irate person show up looking for one of our mailbox customers. This person was very loudly complaining while ranting about the service he received from our mailbox customer for about 5 minutes before he left.

Afterwards we spoke with our mailbox customer and it turns out this person requested a refund on his purchased item but was not satisfied with a full refund and a free return shipping label, instead wanting to return it in person for an immediate cash refund. After being told that wasn't possible, this person threatened to visit our customer's business address (thankfully our address and not their home-business address) and ended up showing up here.

What's the Deal with those Amazon UPS Return Codes?

Last year Amazon introduced the 2-D return codes that people can have scanned at participating UPS stores and only participating UPS stores. However, some of those stores are also unable to scan these codes and send customers our way to do so. However, Amazon will not allow non-UPS Stores to scan these codes! Overall, it was a hasty implementation with no communication.

There is, however, a work-around we can help you with to get your package on its way. Instead of taking the default options when you return an Amazon package, take the following steps:

1. Initiate the return
2. Choose "Other Options" instead of the default method
3. Choose "UPS Dropoff"
4. Choose "email label" to "info@ponyexpressredmond.com"

Once we receive your label we are happy to get your label printed and your return on its way - No charge. πŸ˜Š
